Corn has had a great week and the best week that the spot month has had since the week of 5-18
Things to watch for market direction in the current market of limited fresh news
How short are the funds this afternoon?
How do crop ratings come in after LW’s larger than expected drop?
Soybeans:  SX18 -1.00¢, SU18 -1.50¢, SX18 -1.50¢, SF19 -1.50¢
Soybeans are just kind of waving in the wind
The bullishness in corn and wheat is being largely ignored
Is it too early to estimate yield on soybeans?  Yes.  Yes it is.
In an interview this morning, President Trump said that the stock market gains since his election gave him the opportunity to wage a trade war
“We’re playing with the banks money.”
For reference sake, SF17 was topped out at $10.17 on November 9th, 2016
I’d be willing to bet the soybean farmers feels like this is playing with the “banks money”
AgResource puts it perfectly this morning:  “How long do US tariffs persist on China and how fast can non-US agricultural producers ramp up their production to fill Chinese demand?  This is structural risk for US farm economy going forward.”
Wheat: KWU18 +11.75¢ MWU18 +17.25¢
Spring wheat market sharply higher today for a second higher day in a row
Off yesterday’s lows currently by 26.5¢  $5.60 next resistance.
French wheat decidedly higher in the overnight session, gave a nice push to CBOT and MGW wheat this session
French wheat production seen down from 6.5% year on year
Winter wheat harvest continues with reports of higher than normal proteins
